This doll isn't a course doll. I found a website that sells kits fairly cheaply and I decided to buy some. I've been pretty impressed so far. The quality of the fabric is not as good as that of the mataro dolls....a lot of it is synthetic and hard to handle. The practice is good, and I can toy around with techniques that I couldn't try on the course dolls because they're so expensive (and my teacher is very picky about things she deems as inperfections).
I tried toing Kasanae, or folding instead of tucking on the front flap of her kimono and on her collars. It turned out pretty nicely. |
